Another Fulci offering. I've enjoyed his other offerings on the list and this is one of the hubbys favourite zombie movies, so I looked forward to watching this one. He even sat through one with me for a change!!

Zombie Flesh Eaters - Will's Review
What to say about our last movie?
Well, its a Fulci, with all that entails; multiple plot threads, hyper-realism, gore and an eyeball getting graphically damaged.
It also contains what is probably Fulci's most famous scene - the underwater fight between a shark (2 sharks actually, but probably both 'played' by the same shark) and a Zombie!

The Werewolf and the Yeti - Lisa's Review
I'll start by saying, this is one crazy assed movie. I could probably do with a second watch to make much sense of it, but my abject lack of enjoyment of any aspect of it, prevents me from doing so. One thing I have learnt from this 'Nasties' experience is that I'm not a fan of the 'so bad its good' movies.

The Werewolf and The Yeti - Will's Review
This one is a gap in the run for many who have tried to attempt the DPP72, as it has never been re-released in the UK or the US... I'm therefore forgiving myself the late review, instead being great full that there's a review at all, however untimely. I'll give a full (as I can manage) plot summery at the end of the review, because this is a tough one to get hold of, and you may want to read about it, given that its a tough one to get to see.

Visiting Hours - Lisa's Review
*** SOME SPOILERS ***
I struggled this week with why on earth this movie found its way onto the Nasties List. It would be much better suited as a Sunday afternoon movie. There is little in the way of gore or graphic scenes in the movie to complain about, so I'm at a loss. There is a scene which sexualises a knife torture and rape, which I suppose is a bit in bad taste, but I've seen worse before the watershed I'm sure.

Twitch of the Death Nerve - Will's Review
Not quite a slasher (misses one of the essential ingredients) but defiantly an influence on the slashers that would follow (parts of this movie would be remade virtually shot for shot a decade later in 'Friday the 13th part II') Twitch of the Death Nerve is an important and interesting film, if only from a historical point of view.
Opening with 2 kills, and with a kill on average every 10 mins thereafter, I can't quite decide if I was entertained; but it was impossible to be board...

Tenebrae - Wills review.
I'm sure a film student could go to town on this one; telling us how it lacks Argento's usual strangely colourful lighting, but how despite this the camera work and set design all still have his fingerprints all over them.
They could explore the idea that the films central character was a proxy for Argento himself; The character is a creator of horror and thrillers (books not movies) and is accused of misogynism by a critic (I don't know that the Argento himself ever was, but most purveyors of horror face the charge at some point).[1]

SS Experiment Love Camp - Will's Review
Our last Nazi Nasty! Horray! And this one isn't even that bad (by the, admittedly low, standard set by the others anyway).
The basic premise is the same as in all of these things; female POWs are kept at a special camp where they will act as whores to the third Reich, and nasty experiments shall be run on them.

So ANOTHER Nazi Sexploitation movie *YAWN*. The last one I am assured, thank gawd!
What to say? This movie is a big steaming pile of poo. It probably didn't help that I had to watch it on a faulty laptop which made a constant loud whirring noise the entire time, but I don't think the comfort of a lounge on the sofa and my DVD player would have made much difference.

Snuff - Will's Review
After watching Snuff, but while pondering what I could possibly write about it, I happened to read an interview with (Current Doctor Who writer-in-chief) Stephen Moffat, in which he says that "All stories are endings; the rest of the story is just a way to arrive at the ending" - which is true, and sums up nicely why a bad ending can ruin an otherwise fine movie, and why a great ending can elevate an average film.
It's also never been more fitting as I come to review a movie that was sold entirely on it's final scene.

Snuff - Lisa's Review
I'm not going to beat about the bush this week. This movie is monumentally awful!!! I usually try to come up with a positive about our movies, but this week, I'm afraid I am struggling in a big way. The best thing about this movie is the publicity campaign which was the reason so many poor sods ended up watching it. The possibility of viewing an actual snuff movie was obviously a big pull. Unfortunately for them, this was a previously released and unsuccessful Argentinian movie called 'Slaughter', which the director took and made changes to (included an additional ending supposed to be a piece of snuff) and they were to be bitterly disappointed.
